ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Notice is hereby given that the 2014 Annual General Meeting of
Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation will be held at the:
Civic Hall, Peko Road Tennant Creek on
Thursday 30 October 2014
10.00am – 1.00pm
A healthy lunch will be provided.
The Anyingini AGM is an open forum and we invite all members of the public to attend.
Main Agenda Items:
• Chairperson’s Report.
• General Manager’s Report.
• Auditor’s report.
• Election of Auditor’s for 2014/15.
• Election of Directors – Vacancies exist for three Directors to represent Ward One – Tennant Creek
township and communities within a 100km radius. You must be a member of Anyinginyi to vote in
• Proposed changes to Rule Book (see below).
• General Business.
PROPOSED CHANGES TO RULE BOOK:
At the meeting members will be asked to vote on the following proposed changes to the Rule Book:
Section of Rule Book: 8.4 - Becoming a Director by appointment
Delete existing clause 8.4.3 that reads: “The Board will have a respected person experienced with high
level boards and the provision of health or related services , who may not be a resident of the Barkly
Region, become a member of the board to provide advice on governance on a quarterly basis.”
To be replaced with clauses 8.4.3 and 8.4.4:
8.4.3: “ The Board may appoint up to three non-member Directors who are aboriginal but do not have
to reside in the Barkly Region provided they have expertise in clinical, governance or nancial matters.”
8.4.4: “Non-member Directors cannot be appointed to Board executive positions.”
Reason for recommended change: As an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation
dealing with complex issues the Board relies on quality information to make decisions. This provides
the Board with the opportunity to enhance expertise as needed.
Section of Rule Book: 8.1 Numbers of Directors
Delete clause 8.1.2 point 2 that reads: “Ward Two – South Barkly 8 positions community nominated
community representation by one person for Mungkarta, two positions for Ali Curung, one position
for Epenarra, two positions for Canteen Creek , one position for Murray Downs and one position for
To be replaced with clause 8.1.2 that reads: “Ward Two – South Barkly 3 positions community
nominated community representation by one position for Mungkarta and two positions for Ali Curung.”
Reason for recommended change: The existing clause was drafted in anticipation of Anyinginyi
becoming the sole provider of primary health services for the Barkly region. Since that time the
communities of Epenarra, Canteen Creek, Murray Downs and Barrow Creek have elected, as is their
right, to be part of another region should regionalisation eventuate.
The prosed change to the Rule Book would have no impact on the provision of services to any community.
Should you have any queries regarding the agenda, wish to obtain a copy of the current Rule Book,
or would like to become a member of Anyinginyi please contact Clarissa Burgen on 8962 2633.
Anyinginyi will provide pick up services to all community members who wish to attend. Bus drivers
will be doing pick ups from all living areas as well as town. If you wish to make a booking to be
picked up please contact Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families on 8963 2914.
Please note: All Anyingiyi services will be closed until 1pm for the Annual General Meeting.
