The 2016 theme, ‘Healthy Eating, Healthy Living’, is to encourage the community to keep
living a healthy lifestyle or begin living one. ‘For Fit-Dis Sake’ is a new activity in this year’s
Festival, to help make ‘dream’s come true.
Join our Everyday Hero team today! All you need to do is fitness activties to raise funds.
These funds will go towards one of our ‘stars’ (a person with a disability) who has a dream
they would like. Some ‘dreams’ have been professional music lessons, music equipment, to
host a dance event and another for a trip away to the coast.
Help make these ‘dreams’ come true for those in our community living with disability.
You only have 6 more weeks to get moving and raise funds!
For Fit-Dis Sake’ teams will receive a pack:’For Fit-Dis Sake’ t-shirt, ‘That Sugar Film’ DVD.
A community awards ceremony will take place on Monday 1st August at 3:30pm in Peko
Park. All participants will receive a certificate and a cheque for the amounts they have
raised. ‘Teams’ who have raised a first, second, third and last place will each receive a
bonus amount to contribute towards the ‘dream’.

BARKLY BREEZE FLYING TRAPEZE
WORLD KITCHEN- COOK OFF
Calling all locals! This is a ONCE ONLY opportunity to experience and learn Flying
Trapeze. Barkly Regional Arts were successful in securing this opportunity to bring a
mobile flying trapeze rig to Tennant Creek for three weeks.
We are now searching for those in the community, all ages, which would like to
attend some 90 minute sessions to learn flying trapeze and be a part of creating a
local community performance. Open to 10 people across the community.
We are also calling on organisations to submit one person from their organisation
who can attend a Flying Trapeze lesson and then compete in a ‘Fly Off’ on Friday
29th July at 6:30pm. The ‘Fly Off’ is about raising awareness on health issues in the
community. Each person to fly will have a specific health issue they are flying for.
Please submit your name to email@example.com by Friday 8th July.
A general flying schedule for people just wanting to try, during the school holidays
will be created. Bookings will be essential.
Do you consider yourself a whiz in the kitchen? Do you watch Master-Chef and
think, I can do that? Here is your chance to show of your skills in this year’s fun
Festival activity, ‘World Kitchen-Cook Off’. At Peko Park we will be building an
outdoor kitchen where teams will compete.
We are looking for the following:
1. Sunday July 31st, 1-2pm: 4 young people (8-18). They will be working with
celebrity, Zoe Tuckwell-Smith, who will first demonstrate what they are to make.
Then the young people will compete to see who makes it the best.
2. Sunday July 31st, 2-3pm: Iron Chef for 2 families. Two families will be given
ingredients on the day in which they have 40 minutes to create their masterpiece.
3. Monday August 1st, 1:30pm-2:30pm- 2 people who have a recipe they want to
share with the world. This will be a 30-minute cooking demonstration. As this is
‘Arts Culture Experience Day’, we are also looking for multi cultural recipes.
4. Monday August 1st, 2:30-3:30pm: Iron Chef between 2 local chefs. Two chefs will
go head to head in this cook off for the title of Iron Chef.
All judging panels will be made up from people in the audience.
Register your team by Friday 8th July to firstname.lastname@example.org
