NT Labor Leader Michael Gunner was in town last week
where he was led on a meet-and-greet by Member for
Barkly Gerry McCarthy.

Mr Gunner said it was good to be back in the town where he attended
school and to meet with people from Barkly Regional Arts, Nyinkka

businesses. He also spent a day in Ali Curung during NAIDOC Week.
The two Labor politicians promised to support Tennant Creek if
Labor was elected, pledging $6.5 million to develop an integrated
early childhood centre, $5 million upgrading sporting facilities and
$300,000 on refurbishments at the two schools.
Additionally, $1.65 million would be spent at the Tennant Creek
Speedway, part of a $12 million commitment to motorsports in the
