Senior Project Officer
Location: Borroloola NT
Position number: R60
Salary package: ASO6 $58,121 – $66,767 pa + other entitlements
Contract term: to 30 June 2017 (subsidised housing available if required)
The Senior Project Officer is responsible for the effective implementation and on-going management of NLC projects and
programs in the Borroloola Region, including direct supervision and management of project officers and support staff within
the Borroloola office.
NLC is looking to engage a motivated individual who can demonstrate leadership and experience in implementing projects to
a high standard, with problem-solving skills, and the ability to harness resources to effectively plan, coordinate and manage
High level communication and reporting skills are required to undertake consultations, provide timely advice, seek
instructions from Traditional Owners and Aboriginal groups, and liaise with government agencies and other stakeholders.
Regional Coordinators (2 positions)
Locations: Ngukurr (position number R50) & Tennant Creek (position number R63)
Salary package: SOGC $71,811 - $78,683 pa + other entitlements
Contract term: 3 years
The Regional Coordinator positions are responsible for the effective implementation and on-going management of NLC
projects, programs and staff within the relevant regions.
The successful applicants will possess high level leadership, problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to
manage competing priorities in a diverse and complex environment, exercise discretion, and strategically harness resources
to effectively plan, coordinate and manage achieve the required objectives.
High level experience in project budgetary and financial management, IT systems and HR and WHS practices working in
a field based operation, and the ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external
stakeholders is essential.
Applicants should possess an understanding and knowledge of issues affecting Aboriginal culture and society; and the issues
affecting Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory, and a current unrestricted Drivers’ licence, as well as a willingness to
undertake travel to remote areas.

DECLARATION OF A FIRE DANGER AREA AND
FIRE DANGER PERIOD
The Minister for Land Resource Management hereby gives notice that a Fire
Danger Period is declared for the period from 15 July 2016 to 31 December
2016 in that part of the Northern Territory that is north of the 21st parallel of
The 21st parallel crosses the Northern Territory approximately 150km south
of Tennant Creek. The major effect of this declaration is that, throughout
the declared area, a permit to burn is now required before any burning
is conducted, and a person must not leave an area before thoroughly
extinguishing any fire they have lit. There are substantial penalties for failing
to comply with these requirements.
