Youth Outreach and Re-Engagement Team -
Youth Diversion Workers
Territory Families are seeking passionate and committed youth diversion workers to join our
new Youth Outreach and Re-Engagement Teams in Darwin/Palmerston, Alice Springs,
Tennant Creek, Katherine, and Nhulunbuy.
We are offering ongoing opportunities for youth diversion workers who will work closely with
young people to support them to engage in education and programs. The role is to intervene
early and break the cycle of crime.
Successful applicants will have experience or a demonstrated ability to work with young
people that are dealing with trauma and who may display behavioural issues. This role requires
resilience and a positive approach in providing practical support. The positions also
require an understanding of Aboriginal culture, maturity and respect. Experience in case
management with young people will be highly regarded.
Applicants must be willing to undertake a national criminal history check, a working with
children check, and a current driver’s licence would be beneficial.
• Paid training with nationally accredited qualifications
• 6 weeks annual leave each year
• Commencement salary of $64,405
• After hours work is expected and penalty rates will apply.
