COUNCILLOR FOR PATTA WARD
NT Council Elections 26 August 2017
As a local of Tennant Creek. I would like the opportunity to
represent you on the Barkly Regional Council.
l Commitment to keeping the local authority in
Tennant Creek. I voted no against getting rid of the
Local Authority for Tennant Creek and potentially losing
$100,000 in funds for the community.
l CCTV in the main street as they have in all other
major centres in the Territory, to help in the prevention
l Installation of another Exit Loo in the main street. I
would like to see it closer to the Supermarket where a
lot of tourists stop and locals frequent.
l Invitation for businesses to register as a supplier to
the Barkly Regional Council to make it easier for Council
to support local and grow local enterprise.
l Follow up of the installation of the legacy project for
the Town Clock. This has been a joint venture between
Territory Generation, Oricon, Clarke Energy and the
Tennant Creek Local Authority, and a project I have
taken to heart.
l I would like to see Jemena approached to also
provide a legacy project as a possible sound shell for
Lake Mary Ann or a recycling plant, to assist in waste
management in the Barkly.
l Possible business opportunity for a recycle/tip shop at
the dump on a lease arrangement for a local company.
l I am willing to take forward issues on behalf of
locals of the Patta Ward and Barkly shire to council for
If elected I would be part of the Barkly Regional Council.
I will provide a strong voice for the Patta Ward, from where I was elected.
A TENNANT Creek pharmacy assistant will
represent the Northern Territory at a national
level after she outshone her colleagues at a
workshop last week.
Sally Edwards, who works at United Chemists, was
selected following a pharmacy knowledge and customer
service skills showcase against four other NT finalists.
She will fly the Territory’s flag at the National Finals
of the 2017 Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Awards
(PATY) to be held on the Gold Coast in October.
Pharmacy Guild of Australia Training Manager and
National PATY judge, Deborah Scholz, said the awards
recognise and reward outstanding pharmacy assistants
“At the NT workshop, each candidate displayed a
strong commitment to their work and the industry which
was a pleasure to see,” she said.
“It was a hard task to pick just one but Sally really
General Manager (Aust) of award sponsor AFT Phar-
maceuticals Calvin MacKenzie said that the calibre of
PATY nominees was always extremely high.
“It is a great indication of the outstanding contribu-
tion that pharmacy assistants make in our communities
every day,” he said.
“Congratulations to Sally for her achievement as the
state winner and I am sure she will represent Tennant
Creek and the NT with pride.”
During the national conference in October, Sally will
receive exclusive training and development sessions
and will be invited to be a judge at next year’s state
If she goes on to become the national winner, Sally will
take home $5000 cash and will contribute a monthly
column in PostScript magazine for 2018.
