Kathleen Park Tennant Creek public consultation
The Barkly Regional Council is calling for submissions from the public on a proposal
for Tennant Creek Women’s Refuge (TCWR) to use the northern third of Kathleen
Park off Kathleen Street.
The proposal is for the TCWR to use the portion to extend the day use area of their
adjacent operations. This would mean a new fence to screen the area off from the
remaining park area and an increase in the height of neighbouring fences to that of the
existing refuge fencing. This would also exclude the area from public use.
A shade structure, fire pit and cooking facilities would be included in the area. Security
lighting and cameras would also be erected.
A brief of the proposal can be inspected at the Barkly Regional Council offices at 41
Peko Road Tennant Creek.
Interested persons are invited to lodge their written submissions on or before 14
