Local CWA celebrates 85 years
1 min read

THE Tennant Creek Country Women’s Association celebrated its 85th birthday at the Memo Club on Sunday.

By happy chance, Lee Hutton, the grand-daughter of one of the original members was visiting Tennant Creek, at trip that had been previously planned, but delayed due to travel restrictions.

The delays were obviously meant to be, and ensure that she was in Tennant Creek for such an important celebration.

Another important guest was former branch President Caroline Joswig, who travelled with her husband Win, from Darwin to attend.

There were plenty of memories being relived and tributes to the hard work and effort that the CWA put into the community with their various functions.

Here’s to another 85 years of the Tennant Creek Branch.
