Show 2.0 closes Desert Harmony with a BAM!
1 min read

COVID-19 tried hard to take our annual show away from us for a second year in a row, but it did not take into account the resilience of Territorians.

With a bit of reorganising, Tennant Creek managed to close Desert Harmony with a bang that included not only the Barkly Area Music Festival (BAMFest), but also the majority of the rides and sideshows that would have been here had the show gone ahead on its original date.

They even had the Bushfires NT volunteers wandering through the show giving out bags, giving it more of that “show” vibe.

The carnival started on Friday afternoon and went into the night, reopening on Saturday morning  for the community to let their hair down and have the fun they thought they had missed yet again.

Around 3pm the music kicked off with Jameson Casson and went through until late with artists that included the Barkly Drifters, Last Resort and the Desert Eagle Band entertaining the audience.

It may not have been the right date, or quite as big, but Show 2.0 was a credit to those who managed to get it happening on such short notice, and much needed by the community.
