Tennant in dire need of strength in leadership
1 min read

TENNANT Creek is imploding – organisations that play a major part in the operation of this town are in chaos and the “rumour mill” is smoking.

Crime is rampant and citizens are being arrested and charged for protecting themselves and their properties - a political manipulation of the law that is transforming victims into perpetrators and protecting criminals.

Apparently the problem is all the fault of “THEY” – THEY are not doing enough, THEY should be doing more and THEY should be paying for it.

“WE” as in what are “WE” doing as parents and families and community leaders is not a part of the conversation.

Rather than take ownership and responsibility for the main problem in this town which is Youth Crime “WE” are wallowing in the blame game.

The local conversation is getting angrier as it’s usually about yesterday’s crime and the obvious lack of action by authorities and organisations funded by the taxpayer to serve the community.

Tennant Creek is a life-support system – what happens when all the service providers and tradies are driven out of town?

The people who maintain the medical, education, electrical, water, housing and social services – it’s a simple fact that the residents of this town won’t survive without them.

Stop gagging the truth.

This is a small town we are all affected and we all see the problems.

What we urgently need is honesty and strength in leadership not this continuous kowtowing to political agendas.
