Borroloola traffic blitz ahead

POLICE are urging Borroloola residents to ensure their vehicle is roadworthy and have plans in place ahead of the local rodeo this weekend.

Police say they will be out in force to target those who choose to put others at risk.

The warning comes after four people were arrested and charged for drink driving and traffic-related offences.

A 36-year-old man who returned a breath analysis of 0.152 per cent was charged with high range drink driving and driving unlicensed.

A 29-year-old man who blew 155 per cent was also found to be driving unlicensed and in possession of alcohol in an alcohol protected area. 

He was charged with high range drink driving, driving unlicensed and bringing alcohol into alcohol protected area.

A 42-year-old man who returned a positive reading of 0.143 per cent was found to be driving unlicensed, unregistered and uninsured was charged with one count of medium range drink driving, driving unregistered, unlicensed and uninsured.

A 40-year-old woman was charged with traffic-related offences after she was found driving whilst disqualified, unlicensed, uninsured and unregistered.

All four offenders will appear before the Borroloola Local Court on 2 November.
