HAIRY locals in Tennant Creek praised the follicle gods last week when the Deadly Hair Dude returned with his trusty scissors.

Owned by hairdresser Gary Strachan, the Deadly Hair Dude provides the town’s only hairdressing service on a visiting basis. 

Gary also provides training opportunities for young people in remote areas of the Northern Territory. 

Recently, he was awarded the 2024 National Small Business Champion by the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia (COSBOA) for his efforts in addressing the lack of hairdressing services and skills in remote regions of the NT. 

Although Gary has left Tennant Creek for now, he will be returning during the week of the Tennant Creek Two Cup Race Day.
