Guides celebrate World Thinking Day
1 min read

TENNANT Creek has been fortunate over the years to have a constant and popular Girl Guide group in town.

World Thinking Day is an annual celebration of the Girl Guide and Girl Scout movement worldwide with girls and leaders connecting and learning how to tackle global issues on a community level.

Tennant Creek Guides and their leaders gathered on Thursday evening to celebrate Thinking Day at the Guide Hall as well as presenting multiple well deserved awards to both girls and leaders.

Local member Steve Edgington was pleased to present “Pixie” and “Pilkana” with their leadership qualifications as well as presenting “Rosella” with her Assistant District Manager qualifications, demonstrating twelve months of work for these leaders in the areas of planning, programming, First Aid Training, as well as Child Safe, Child-Friendly Training.

Seven girls took their promise, starting out on their guiding journey, five girls renewed their promise, a couple of girls earned their Silver Endeavour Award, one young girl earned her Junior BP award and one of the older girls was presented with her Black Opal Award, showing that both girls and leaders are doing their very best to live up to Guiding principals and succeeding admirably at it.

Congratulations go to all those who were presented with awards.
