More land to be released in Tennant Creek

THE NT Government has announced planning is underway for another land release to ease the housing shortage in town.

With Budget 2024 being released next week, the Labor Government said it’s investing more than $200 million to prepare more land for new housing and other developments in Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Katherine, and Darwin.

There are 6 titled lots for sale on Chittock Crescent and planning is underway for a further 50 lots.

In Darwin, more than 550 lots will be established within this first tranche of development, with the wider urban development known as Greater Holtze having the potential to service 11,000 lots.

Chief Minister Eva Lawler said her Government is backing the industries that get the Territory working – and that means investing in bringing more land to market to support the construction industry.

“We want local tradies to be on site building Darwin’s newest suburb and that’s why we are investing in bringing Greater Holtze online.

“Not only are we going to be seeing more than 550 homes built in Holtze in the first tranche, we will also have Territorians working on these builds – and that provides training opportunities for workers and the chance for local businesses and subcontractors to grow.”
