BARKLY Regional Arts is excited to announce four new Board Members joining the team plus a new Excecutive Officer!

Jimmy Frank, Tristan Duggie, Kym Brahim and Deborah Hartman bring a wealth of local knowledge and strategic direction to the company.

They are pictured here with the new executive officer  Vanessa Hutchins  who is taking up the leadership role with the organisation following the retirement of Alan Murn in early July.

Alan’s 12-year tenure was celebrated with a very large party held mid-July at the Tennant Creek RSL, where he was honoured for his commitment to arts and cultural development across the Barkly region.

He leaves the company in a really healthy position having secured five year funding from Australia Council of the Arts, an incredible achievement.

Vanessa Hutchins commenced at Barkly Arts in August and is excited to be in the role to champion the organisation.

She has a 30-year career in the arts spanning 20 years in the Northern Territory working with Artback NT and collaborating many times with Barkly Arts.

Vanessa said she feels at home in the Barkly having toured and produced live bands, theatre and visual arts experiences here.

“I’m very excited to have the role of executive officer at Barkly Arts and know that I have large shoes to fill given Alans extensive history growing the company,” she said.

“I look forward to meeting organisations and people around town and hearing how working with Barkly Regional  Arts has enabled them to express their creative talents.”
