Ti Tree Middle School learns first aid skills
1 min read

TI Tree students are becoming more first aid savvy having successfully completed a Royal Life Saving NT (RLSNT) First Aid course last week.

The 10 students learned basic first aid along with specific skills regarding snake and spider bites, heat exhaustion and heat stroke, as these conditions could arise in their environment.

The students enjoyed the practical aspect of the course, especially bandaging and putting the different types of slings on each other.

In groups of threes, they were put through different scenarios involving the use of CPR and the external defibrillator.

Principal Amanda Kimpton was impressed at how well the students worked through the first aid course and hopes that the students will be able to use what they learned if the time arises.
