Girl Guides leader rallies to raise funds for cancer research
1 min read

KATHLEEN, also known as Katie, is a well-known figure in our community.

She works at the local supermarket and volunteers as a leader with the Girl Guides.

However, what many people don’t know is that she suffers from a form of cancer called neurofibromatosis (NF1) which causes tumours to grow on nerves.

Despite her illness, Katie remains dedicated to raising awareness and funds for NF1 sufferers.

This time, she has teamed up with her uncle to participate in a week-long Australia-wide car rally, where they will be driving a car that costs no more than $1,500.

The Girl Guides hold Katie in high regard and have supported her efforts for cancer research by donating several times before the Quiz night on Saturday.

Each team in the rally is expected to raise at least $5,000, and with the Guides’ efforts, it looks like an achievable target.

If you would like to contribute to the team’s fundraising efforts, you can visit https://autumn2024.shitboxrally.com.au/buzzs-boys?fbclid=IwAR0vLh9aKHWNEWDlBGoSd0BGWlcaoQcD20FCCE6Bsk54AhgTA-68z74tcd4.

Your donation will support Katie, the Girl Guides’ efforts, and cancer research.
