Calling on the town with a Golden Heart to dig deep for loved local
1 min read

TENNANT Creek has a well-worn name of being a town with a Golden Heart - and now the family and friends of a loved local are seeking the community’s support to help her through a tough battle against cancer.

Kim Stewart was recently diagnosed with cancer after a routine appointment where doctors found masses in her lungs and ovary.

Now Kim requires urgent medical care from an oncology team and needs to relocate to Queensland with her daughter for support during the vigourous treatment.

Daughter Natalie has kicked off a GoFundMe campaign to help her Mum in relocation and treatment costs.

It has so far raised just over $1,200, but more is needed to reach the $15,000 target.

“My mum is scared and the sooner we can get her to Queensland, the more settled she can be before the treatment starts,” said Natalie.

“She currently doesn’t have the funds to make the move and her working life is about to be put on hold - taking this pressure off her would be a great relief.

“Any donation - big or small - will be greatly appreciated and will go directly to relocating Mum and getting her well so she can return to the town and friends she loves so much.
