Local CWA celebrates International Women’s Day
1 min read

TENNANT Creek’s CWA ladies will be marching its International Women’s Day banner down the main street today.

The banner was crafted many years ago by former resident Joie Boulter and has been an attraction at many IWD events over the years.

The IWD March, organised by Barkly Regional Council and Tennant Creek Women’s Refuge, will start at 9.3am opposite the Bay Leaf Café and end at the Civic Hall where an Expo will be held.

In other CWA news, the Branch held its annual general meeting recently where Pene Curtis was elected the new President.

Kim Raine was voted in as Vice President, Marg Law as second VP, Helen Kempe as Secretary, Jill Kleiner is the Treasurer and Barb Kelly is the International Officer.

The CWA’s Sunday morning craft sessions will resume soon, so dig out those UFOs (unfinished objects) ready for completion.
