Tennant and District Times
Get involved in your Tennant Creek community by volunteering
1 min read

WITH the recent issues with the Tennant Creek Show going to be cancelled, I thought I would take the time to try and recruit volunteers for all our amazing clubs and their committees.

This incredible town requires the support of all those who are capable of lending a hand. It doesn’t matter if you are here for six months. Help is always appreciated.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a child at guides or know how to play football, these clubs can still use your help.

You have ideas, opinions and skills that can be used.

There are so many little things people can do no matter what their age.

Older residents have the knowledge to share, can sell tickets, collect recycling and donate proceeds to the clubs, man entry gates and so much more.

If you don’t have the time to join an executive committee, then register as a volunteer to say you can help for short periods of time.

Sign your kids up for footy or guides.

If you don’t have transport someone can always pick you up. Just ask.

If you are away for work, you can video call in.

If you are new to town it is a great way to meet new people.

Let’s stop making excuses and support this town that has so much to give.

The Show Committee is not the only one needing volunteers and committee members.

Here are a few that you could consider:

TCA  Museum (Friends of the Tennant Creek Branch of the National Trust): https://www.nationaltrustntstore.com/membership (nominate Tennant as your home branch
