THE lure of the Barkly Table-
lands attracts thousands of
visitors to Tennant Creek
and its vast goldfields on an
annual basis, and tomorrow
afternoon they get a chance
to find a different type of
riches when the Tennant
Creek Turf Club holds its
one and only meeting of the
year at Hagan Park.
And it is a great spectacle to
watch, as the horses, every move
tracked by a hovering dust cloud,
head for home down the never
ending length of the home straight.
Racing kicks off at 1.30pm with
the running of the Tennant Creek
Security Maiden (1000m).
The feature race on the card is
without doubt the XXXX Gold
Tennant Creek Cup (1600m) and
the Gary Clarke-trained Effcee is
the one to beat.
He won impressively over

Bolton ran third in the Alice

Artie’s Angel and Barely A Beat
are both in the race with winning
chances, but both probably need to
find just a little more to win.
In other races on the program,
punters might like to keep an eye
on a few of these runners.
In the opening race, the Kevin
Lamprecht trained Girl Happy did
enough at her first run to suggest
she will go well tomorrow.
Girl Happy will be ridden by
Spradau and if she has learned
a little from her only start in the
Alice, she will be hard to beat.
Lamprecht has a very good
knack of winning races at Tennant

stable leave Hagan Park without a
