EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
RECYCLABLE WASTE KERBSIDE SERVICE
Barkly Regional Council is seeking expressions of interest for the provision of
an environmentally responsible and economically viable kerbside service for
the collection of Tennant Creek’s recyclable waste.
The service sought would also incorporate the processing of recyclable material
to achieve the maximum possible diversion from the Tennant Creek landfill into
an environmentally beneficial application.
Expressions of Interest should be marked: ‘Kerbside Domestic Waste’ and
addressed to the Barkly Regional Council CEO Steve Moore. The document
must be sent either by registered post to the Customer Service Section
Counter, Barkly Regional Council, PO Box 821, Tennant Creek, NT, 0861, or
hand-delivered to Council reception, 41 Peko Road.
Document to be lodged as 2 x paper copies (bound) and 2 x copies on
USB or CD by 4pm (ACST) on Friday, 31 August 2018.

NUMBER OF DOGS ON A RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY
Barkly Regional Council wishes to advise the following as per a resolution at the
June Ordinary Council Meeting to take effect from 1 July 2018:
l The maximum numbers of dogs on an unlicensed premise is limited to two
l All premises where three or more dogs are kept are required to be
licensed as per the Tennant Creek (Control of Dogs) By-law.
l Council resolved that after seven (7) days in the pound, abandoned
animals become property of the Council and can be managed in a manner
deemed appropriate by the authorised officer.

LIBRARY HOURS TRIAL
Barkly Regional Council would like to advise residents that it is trialling new
hours for the Tennant Creek Library for three months.
The trial hours will be as follows:
Monday-Friday: 8.30am - 4.30pm with no lunchtime closure
Saturday: 9am - 12 noon
The trial hours will take effect from Monday, 13 August 2018.

MINISTER’S DECISION UNDER THE PLANNING ACT
I, EVA DINA LAWLER, the Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, under section 40(6) of
the Planning Act, give notice that –
a) I have under section 40(2)(a), granted an Exceptional Development Permit for Lot 371, 13
Ambrose Street, Town of Tennant Creek;
b) the Exceptional Development Permit has been granted for the purpose of a 6 bedroom single
storey workers accommodation (unlisted use);
c) the land is within Zone SD (Single Dwelling Residential) of the Northern Territory Planning
Scheme, and the use of the site for an unlisted use would otherwise be prohibited in this zone;
d) copies of the Exceptional Development Permit and the Reasons for the Decision are available

and experienced person to undertake the position of
Finance Officer (Part Time – hours negotiable) within
our Corporate Services Section.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate
sensitivity and understand the importance of
confidentiality within the workplace. You will be
required to have a strong understanding of Aboriginal
culture while providing a high level of assistance to
management and co-workers by way of skills in the
use of Xero accounting systems payroll, creditors

have great organisational skills and well developed
